Welcome. Most people who come to therapy have questions about what they will be doing, what is expected of them, and the rights and responsibilities of both the therapist and the client. I am providing this information to help you understand more about my services and to answer some common questions.  Please feel free to discuss with me any other questions or concerns.

Benefits of Therapy

The benefits of therapy vary depending on many factors but most importantly on your participation.  The counseling process can help you to learn about yourself in a deeper and more meaningful way.  In addition, it may help to provide clarity on thoughts, feelings and beliefs; heal emotional wounds; and explore solutions to issues troubling you.  For some, the process can feel uncomfortable and life changes may occur.  These changes although beneficial in the long run may be stressful and difficult to manage.  It will be important for you to bring any and all of these feelings into the safety of our counseling sessions for further discussion. Please know there is nothing that can’t be explored in the context of the therapeutic alliance.  It is a meaningful journey to begin and I encourage you to continue to look for new and enriching ways to use what you learn in therapy to improve the quality of your life.
